A Refined Transformation on the Water
Set within Admirals Cove, this waterfront property began as a dated spec home hidden behind dense hedging. M Hudson Design was brought in to reimagine the exterior environment—stripping away cluttered plantings, redefining the structure of the beds, and introducing an elegant outdoor shower feature that would tie the residence to its coastal setting.
The resulting composition is clean, balanced, and timeless—an expression of classic coastal restraint elevated through precision and proportion.
Classic Proportion, Coastal Simplicity
The design embraces a traditional palette of layered greens and white blooms—classic, tailored, and endlessly refined. M Hudson Design replaced sweeping, irregular beds with crisp squared geometries to complement the home’s architecture. The landscape is intentionally subdued, allowing the home’s form and texture to take precedence while introducing subtle rhythm through planting and color.
Artificial turf unifies the property, creating crisp edges and effortless upkeep. The new plan redefines balance and order, showcasing how classic design can feel both current and enduring.
Green Layers and the Outdoor Shower
The property’s mature palms and oaks were preserved, while underplantings of shrubs, gardenias, and hibiscus brought structure and brightness to the palette. Every layer—groundcover, shrub, and canopy—was refined to support the composition’s clarity.
The most distinctive feature, a custom outdoor shower, connects directly to the home’s interior bath and offers a private resort-like experience. Built with a solid privacy wall and softened by vines, it merges architecture and landscape through thoughtful integration and detail. Its balance of function and beauty has since inspired similar features throughout the community.
Clean Lines and Effortless Order
Throughout the property, artificial turf, crisp bed lines, and controlled plantings reinforce the home’s architectural symmetry. The front entry was simplified to reveal the façade, while low flowering accents add gentle movement without disrupting formality. A restrained lighting plan highlights the palms and pathways at night, ensuring the same quiet sophistication after sunset.
