Our client partnered with M.Hudson Design to reimagine their outdoor sanctuary—transforming the rear patio, pool, pool deck, and surrounding landscape into a setting that would echo the timeless allure of their Mediterranean-style home.

The Essence of French Mediterranean
Guided by the structure and balance of French Mediterranean gardens, our planting design celebrates harmony and form. Each plant was chosen for its texture, tone, and enduring beauty, creating a landscape that feels both composed and naturally abundant.
Mindful of the Property Owners Association’s standards, we ensured full compliance while preserving the home’s mature areca palm hedges, maintaining both privacy and a lush green framework. The design honors the home’s breathtaking views of the intracoastal waterway and natural preserve, blending cultivated elegance with the tranquil rhythm of the surrounding environment.
Delicate accent plantings, sculptural pots on the pool deck, and lush hedges framing the pool terrace add layers of interest and softness, echoing the timeless charm of the Mediterranean coast.
The Art of Craftsmanship
To introduce a softer contrast, a custom artificial turf rug bordered by 12″ x 24″ pavers was integrated into the design, offering a tailored, garden-like texture within the lounging area. The side walkway, reimagined with a 24″ x 24″ diagonal grid inset framed by a 6″ x 12″ border, creates an artful transition between spaces—structured yet fluid, elegant yet welcoming.
The pool deck renovation was envisioned as a showcase of quiet luxury and precision. We selected 24″ x 24″ ivory travertine tiles, edged with a 6″ x 12″ soldier course border, achieving a sense of refined proportion and balance that anchors the space with timeless appeal.
Softness with Intention
Subtle decorative turf insets were woven into the pool deck and walkways, balancing the natural tones of the stone with a touch of verdant softness. This detail brings a gentle rhythm to the hardscape, enhancing both its beauty and its sense of calm precision.
The Poetry of Light
As evening falls, the property transforms under a carefully composed low-voltage lighting design. Each focal and accent palm was illuminated to highlight its sculptural form, while the warm glow of the light extends across textures of foliage and stone, creating a captivating nightscape.
Soft pathway lighting guides the way through the garden, enhancing safety and ambiance while drawing subtle attention to the architecture and shimmering reflections across the rear pool deck. The result is a space that feels alive in every hour of the day—elegant by sunlight, enchanting by night.
