M Hudson Design was commissioned to completely re-envision an outdated backyard in Jupiter Country Club, transforming it into a refined outdoor retreat defined by luxury materials, technical precision, and family functionality.
The homeowners, seasonal residents from Canada, wanted a larger pool, a stronger connection to their covered patio, and an outdoor environment that balanced modern elegance with everyday comfort. Working within an intimate courtyard setting, our team delivered a transitional design that merges the warmth of Mediterranean architecture with the clean geometry of contemporary living.

Mud-Set Porcelain and Material Mastery
At the heart of the design is a mud-set porcelain pool deck, chosen for its refined finish and dimensional accuracy. M Hudson Design developed a two-tone paver layout, using complementary porcelain colors to frame key areas while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.
An invisible drainage channel was integrated beneath the surface to preserve the clean lines of the terrace, and a wood-tone porcelain sun shelf introduces warmth and contrast. Every element was tailored around the clients’ selected furniture and circulation paths, creating a deck that feels both elegant and efficient—a masterclass in proportion and detail.
Deck-Level Sophistication with Fire Integration
The former t-shaped pool was replaced with a rectilinear deck-level pool, where the water sits perfectly flush with the terrace for a mirrored, contemporary effect. The new design features a raised spa with a crisp 90-degree spillover, combining visual movement with architectural precision.
A fire pit integrated during pool construction anchors the terrace and establishes a glowing focal point visible from the home’s interior. The layout balances symmetry with function—a composition of water, fire, and family interaction that brings energy and harmony to the outdoor space.

To enhance usability, M Hudson Design added a custom outdoor shower enclosure—six feet high with built-in seating, shelving, and towel hooks. Existing landscape speakers were preserved, reinstalled, and concealed for a seamless finish.
Minimal but thoughtful planting refreshed the property’s edges: groundcover, clean mulch lines, and a border of Mexican beach pebbles separating greenery from the porcelain surfaces. The result is a setting that feels tidy, tranquil, and polished from every angle.
Subtle Glow and Evening Ambience
A refined lighting plan highlights both safety and atmosphere. Step and path lights define circulation, while accent uplighting brings warmth to the spa spillover, fire feature, and select palms.
The lighting enhances contrast and reflection after dark—a quiet glow that extends the property’s modern calm into the evening.
