This Palm Beach waterfront residence represents the perfect alignment between client vision and design freedom. From the project’s earliest stages, M Hudson Design collaborated alongside the architect and builder to shape the property from curb to water, ensuring every line, surface, and texture flowed together with intent.
The result is a transitional masterpiece—modern in its structure, warm in its materiality, and designed with a deep appreciation for artistry and innovation. The clients’ enthusiasm for design made the process seamless: they wanted every feature, every upgrade, and every detail to reflect something new and inspired. Porcelain, Precision, and Light
The arrival experience begins with an extraordinary porcelain paver driveway installed over a concrete sub-base—an elegant yet highly durable surface that sets the tone for the home’s elevated aesthetic. The pattern incorporates multiple tones of porcelain with bronze-accented trim, designed to echo the home’s bronze entry doors and window framing.
Integrated recessed puck lighting softly illuminates the parking and entry zones, creating a warm, architectural glow that enhances the geometry of the approach without glare or distraction. The result is a hardscape that is both technical and timeless—a foundation of precision and performance that anchors the entire design
Floral Expression and Framed Balance
The front landscape is framed by majestic Medjool date palms, scaled to the street to balance the architecture’s vertical proportions without obscuring its façade. These palms create rhythm and continuity, giving the home both stature and openness.
A planting palette rich in flowering species, citrus trees, and tropical textures reflects the homeowner’s love of color and life. Each layer is balanced to feel natural yet controlled—lush but not overwhelming. Subtle hedging and boundary plantings along the sides of the property provide gentle separation without closing off views.
The interplay of symmetry, texture, and seasonal color gives the property its visual warmth—a classic Palm Beach sensibility expressed through modern restraint.
Guests enter the lounge terrace via a walk-over-water bridge, creating a sense of journey and discovery. And while the site’s flat elevation prevented the use of grand formal stairs, we achieved a broad, two-step transition at the terrace edge, illuminated along every riser for an understated architectural glow.
Every line, reflection, and sound was composed to evoke balance—a seamless dialogue between structure, light, and water.
Fire, Water, and the Art of Reflection
Fire and water serve as guiding elements throughout this design, carried from the front entry to the rear terrace. Sculptural fire bowls positioned near the entry mirror those placed at the pool’s infinity edge, establishing a visual rhythm and emotional connection between arrival and retreat.
The porcelain pool terrace continues the home’s material palette, tying the outdoor spaces together with subtle continuity. The pool itself features a sun shelf with bubblers, a submerged spa, LED lighting, and a cascading water feature—each element contributing sound, light, and motion to the experience.
Luxury in Layers of Experience
Outdoor living was designed to function on multiple levels—structured, social, and serene. The covered lanai provides an intimate, sheltered environment, while a detached pergola lounge and bar area expands the living space outward into the open air.
Equipped with a bar, refrigerator, and television, the pergola zone offers the perfect balance between sophistication and relaxation. Collaborating closely with the interior designer, M Hudson Design refined the proportions, finishes, and flow of this space to complement the home’s architecture.
Hanging chairs suspended from the pergola beams introduce a sculptural and playful detail—another layer of personality that makes this outdoor retreat uniquely expressive.
Illumination with Intention
Lighting design played an essential role in shaping the property’s evening character. Recessed step lights, uplighting on palms, and subtle path lighting bring the architecture and landscape to life at night, enhancing texture and depth.
From the driveway’s porcelain glow to the pool’s underwater LED illumination, every light source was selected for precision and subtlety. The result is a unified, sophisticated glow that defines the property’s ambiance without overpowering it—light as an art form, designed for experience.

The porcelain driveway, fire-and-water composition, and continuity of materials define this residence’s identity. The design is rooted in balance—between linear precision and natural softness, between structure and emotion.
Every detail, from the framed palms at the entry to the waterfall and walk-over-water terrace, contributes to a sense of timeless harmony. Even within the property’s technical constraints, the design achieves clarity and rhythm—a perfect reflection of transitional elegance and thoughtful restraint.
