Refined Waterfront Balance by M. Hudson Design

In Admirals Cove, this attached waterfront residence was transformed through a complete exterior redesign by M Hudson Design in collaboration with Cherry Luxury Homes. The objective was to bring transitional elegance to a compact space—balancing modern clarity with classic warmth and creating a sense of openness where space was limited.
The result is a design that feels effortless and expansive, with every line, material, and planting serving both aesthetic and functional purpose.
Modern Clarity with Transitional Warmth
The front approach was redesigned to soften the home’s geometry while introducing a refined, structured layout. Brick pavers framed with artificial turf inlays create visual rhythm and movement across the entry drive, pairing contemporary restraint with timeless character.
A Bismarck palm establishes a focal point at the front center, while a series of Alexander palms along the roofline subtly mask the adjacent structure, ensuring privacy and balance. The composition celebrates symmetry, proportion, and simplicity—a study in refined restraint that enhances the home’s curb appeal and architectural cohesion.
Sophisticated Simplicity on a Narrow Lot
The rear of the property presented the greatest challenge: a narrow footprint shared with a neighboring dock. M Hudson Design maximized the site’s potential with a precisely planned pool and terrace that blend seamlessly into the architecture. The pool’s sun shelf with bubblers, integrated benches, and linear waterfall with fire feature above create a dynamic focal point visible from the home’s interior. Artificial turf was used in place of additional pavers to maintain permeability and bring a sense of softness to the geometry. The result is a serene, highly functional waterfront retreat that captures the balance between structure, proportion, and light.
Seamless Transitions, Lasting Craft
M Hudson Design coordinated the construction of retaining walls, privacy walls, and the seawall cap, ensuring perfect alignment and cohesion between home, pool, and dock. The new dock decking, lighting, and structural detailing maintain the project’s rhythm and visual continuity. Each line and surface aligns to create what defines this property most: a continuous coastal line that guides the eye naturally from the home’s interior to the horizon.
Texture, Light, and Subtle Contrast
The planting plan was intentionally minimal yet layered. Palms frame the architecture and conceal rooflines, while low hedges and coastal grasses soften hardscape edges near the seawall. Tropical foliage adds restrained color and movement, reinforcing the sense of calm.
Lighting enhances the design’s clarity after sunset, with uplighting and LED pool accents highlighting the vertical forms of the palms and the soft interplay of fire and water. The result is an atmosphere that glows gently without disturbing the tranquility of the space.

This project demonstrates how elegance and efficiency can coexist. Every element—from the entry layout to the dock lighting—was composed with purpose. The geometry of turf and pavers, the interplay of fire and water, and the precise material transitions all combine to create a landscape that feels harmonious, modern, and deeply connected to its setting.
