Turning Site Challenges into Design Opportunities
Our clients partnered with M.Hudson Design to transform a private waterfront property in Jupiter, Florida into a contemporary coastal sanctuary defined by precision, balance, and modern elegance.
Positioned at the quiet end of a canal within the prestigious Admirals Cove community, the site offered privacy but limited water views. Working closely with the project architect, our team reoriented the home on a 45-degree angle—a bold design move that reframed the perspective and opened sightlines down the canal rather than across it. This deliberate shift became the foundation for the entire design, influencing every line, axis, and view throughout the property.
Geometry, Flow and Subtle Warmth
The arrival sequence was designed as a visual journey, drawing guests gracefully toward the front door. A rhythm of rectangular concrete pads with artificial turf inlays leads the approach, aligning with the home’s architecture and guiding the eye to the entry.
To soften the clean geometry, we layered low, textural plantings of Mondo grass, sculptural palms, and native accents. The result is a landscape that feels intentionally modern yet warm and inviting—lush at the ground plane, restrained in form, and deeply harmonious with the home’s contemporary design.
Precision in Form and Texture
The driveway was constructed using poured concrete with a smooth architectural finish, paired with artificial turf joints that emphasize the property’s modern rhythm and angular orientation. These strong linear elements extend throughout the site, uniting the driveway, entry, and pool terrace in a continuous, cohesive language.
A walk-over-water entry feature, complete with subtle bubblers, introduces a sense of serenity from the first step—offering both a physical and emotional threshold. Every hardscape element was precisely scaled and proportioned to ensure fluid movement and visual balance.
The Centerpiece of Modern Relaxation
At the heart of the property lies a custom pool and terrace, positioned along the home’s 45-degree axis to extend sightlines toward the canal and evening sunsets.
The porcelain paver deck continues the home’s sleek architectural language, while turf inlays add linear contrast and definition to the design. A sun shelf and submerged spa anchor one end, complemented by a custom fire feature and cascading water wall that bring energy and atmosphere to the outdoor living space. The composition is at once structured and fluid—a study in modern coastal balance.
Luxury that Extends Beyond the Threshold
The rear terrace was conceived as an extension of the home’s interior—an elegant open-air retreat for living and entertaining. In collaboration with the architect and interior designer, we helped refine the outdoor lounge areas, incorporating features like a drop-down TV, custom fire pit, and curated furniture layout that defines zones without interrupting flow.
Terraced retaining walls address the site’s natural grade change, creating a smooth transition from the main living area to the pool and dock. The result is a sequence of outdoor rooms that feels effortlessly layered, connecting architecture, elevation, and water in one continuous experience.
